Open A 67 def Concordia 31

Trinity’s Open A team has cruised to a 67-31 victory against an undermanned Concordia this morning.
Concordia were outmatched on the interior, with Kuai Deng leading all scorers with 19.
Trinity skipped out to a 9-0 lead to set the tone early, and finished the first quarter up 14-5. The second stanza was more of the same. Trinity continued to pump the ball inside, with Kuai, Charlie and Agok carrying much of the scoring load. A buzzer beater three at half time from Makai made the score 31-14 at the long break.
In the second half we experimented with changing defences, and it gave us a chance to apply more ball pressure. Noah and Michael in particular were tenacious, whilst Makai’s presence in the passing lanes is always dangerous.
We were able to get out and run as the game pressed on, and everyone got on the scoresheet.
The Pink Round Medalist – best teammate as voted by the players – was Agok Panther. Agok’s positive and calm demeanour makes him a terrific leader for our team.

Our next game is against visiting Brisbane team Gregory Terrace on Wednesday, and then a break before a top-of-the-table matchup against St Peter’s early next term.
